The Lake County Conservation Council, Inc. invites the public to Voices of Change: Embracing Environmental Advocacy. This free workshop will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024 from 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lake County, 1235 Mount Homer Road, Eustis. A display of GIS maps will show the state of Lake County's natural resources. To open the workshop, Dr. Beverly Ward, field Secretary of Earth Care, will summarize the county's environmental threats. Ryan Smart, Executive Director for the Florida Springs Council, will then share his advocacy expertise. After a panel of local government officials provide advocacy tips, attendees will divide into small groups to create advocacy plans for various issues. Seating is limited.
